Beadwork Projects

Pro Roe Earring Commission

These Pro Roe earrings were made in about five hours, and were commissioned from me by a member of the Alice Paul Institute. They were made with cut glass white beads, corn silk and pastel purple beads, clear acrylic beads, and traditional dentalium shells.

Gunmetal Backing Beaded Earrings

These earrings were made with gold silver-center beads, white cut glass beads, and gunmetal beads that I purchased from my uncle on Rosebud Reservation in summer, 2022. The centers are red cut glass, with a triangle cut meant to resemble a cat's eye. I really enjoyed making these, they took about six hours to make the pair, and were my second pair of backing beaded earrings I ever made!

Hair Ties for My Sister

These hair ties are for my sister's regalia in traditional medicine wheel colors to match her jingle dress. They are about five inches across, and have a silver acrylic center, because my sister wanted something flashy! I personally believe the colors will look very striking, and the acrylic center will catch a lot of attention while she dances. I ended up replacing the actual tie part with red leather strips, because the red yarn was not sturdy enough (it wasn't meant to be permanent anyway, I had just run out of buckskin). Together, the pair of hair ties probably took me around twenty hours to complete, all told. The wrapping on the fringe (which is about twelve inches long) was a significant part of the time spent on this beadwork.
